Interconnect pioneers use premier electronics industry event to launch new cable solutions for high-speed digital applications

DesignCon booth: 1060

February 24th, 2026 - Junkosha, global leaders in high-performance cable solutions, have announced the launch of their latest Microwave/mmWave Coaxial Cable Assemblies at this year’s DesignCon, engineered to support ultra high-speed signal transmission up 110 GHz and 120 GHz with skew matched to 0.5 psec. The MWX001 and MWX002 cables address the quest for ever faster data transfer speeds for next-generation high-speed digital systems, including data center communication and precision test environments. In addition to this debut, Junkosha’s MWX0A5, the first 0.5 mm connector cable capable of transmitting signals from DC to 250 GHz, will be on display.

As high-speed interconnect technologies continue to scale for data center and AI applications, accurate and repeatable signal integrity characterization is increasingly critical. The improved accuracy of MWX001 and MWX002 represents Junkosha’s capabilities in high-speed cable technology, developing solutions that remove existing bottlenecks and opens the way to a new age of speed. Previous generations offered highly precise 1 psec skew matching; the newer cables achieve guaranteed 0.5 psec skew matching ensuring differential signals remain aligned even at 120 GHz. This precision enables reliable transmission at 448 Gbps, improving jitter and delivering better, more open eye diagram in high-speed digital designs. The cables also exhibit excellent phase stability, providing high quality signal transmission complete with predictable skew performance.

“Instrumentation bandwidth and high precision skew management are critical elements of any emerging 448 Gbps research project today” explains John Calvin, Keysight Technologies. “The 448 Gbps unit-interval is between 4.7 psec and 5.6 psec depending on modulation format, and cable choices need to be carefully considered as a source of loss, reflections and D+/D- skew. In practical terms, skew values in the 10’s of fempto seconds must now be measured and compensated for in any cutting edge AI focused SERDES design. With signaling fundamentals now crossing over the 100 GHz divide, high precision 0.5 mm connectors are being introduced as essential technology to make these systems testable”.

Tomohiro Ogawa, Product Manager for Junkosha adds: “This launch underscores Junkosha’s role as a leader in the high-frequency testing industry. Junkosha is the only manufacturer capable of combining 120 GHz transmission with phase stability and 0.5 psec skew matching simultaneously. Importantly, we are supporting the in¬dustry as it moves toward higher frequencies and speeds. We invite attendees to our booth to discuss their ongoing projects and how our interconnects can help improve test throughput, repeatability and overall measurement efficiency.”

In addition to these latest cable advancements, Junkosha will be showcasing its MWX0A5 cable. Developed in collaboration with Keysight Technologies, it maintains excellent return loss across the full frequency range up to 250 GHz ensuring minimal signal reflection and superior transmission performance. Thanks to the benefits of Junkosha’s cabling which features a PTFE tape-dielectric layer, MWX0A5 achieves low insertion loss reaching –7 dB at 250 GHz for a 6-inch (152 mm) length, as well as a proprietary safety-lock connector for secure and repeatable connections.

Junkosha will be exhibiting its MWX001, MWX002 and MWX0A5 at the DesignCon exhibition from February 24 - 26. More information on Junkosha’s Microwave/mmWave Coaxial Cable Assemblies can be found here.
